Whilst weaving for the island mills, I had the opportunity to assemble a traditional Hattersley single width loom and to design and produce my own tweed. With the help of a friend I am now also able to beam up and weave my own designs and patterns on my Griffith loom.
Yarn is sourced locally from the Mills on the island. After weaving, the tweed is returned to the mill to be finished and to be inspected and stamped by the Harris Tweed Authority.
Below is a short video clip of the looms in action. I hope you will enjoy watching how Harris Tweed Fabric is made.
I hope that you will take a few minutes to look at my site and should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
